Curriculum Vitae

José Martinez Silva (Lisbon, 1966) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture | Technical University Lisbon (UTL) in 1989.

​

Throughout 1990-1991 took an internship with the architects João Luís Carrilho da Graça and Gonçalo Byrne and in 1991 establish his own practice.

 

In 1991 establish his own practice and in 1996 founded Atelier Central Arquitectos, an architectural office that among other important projects became specialized on Brand and Corporate Architecture, providing consultation, design and supervision for General Motors, BMW, AUDI, VW, Citroën, Mitsubishi and others.

His practice has designed a wide range of projects from the small scale of a private home to the large scale of urban design.

 

His work has been recognised with architecture’s most prestigious awards and prizes such as Valmor´s Award, Architizer A+Awards, Architecture Municipality Award “Conde de Oeiras”, Lisbon Real Estate Award, Idea-Tops – Best Design Award and BIAU VI.

 

In 2001-2009, alongside with Architect Miguel Beleza, established ATMB13, an office specialized in branding and corporate design.

 

In 2014 he launched the Start-up company myBUILDIN, an online platform that extends AC’s accumulated know-how to help users to estimate the refurbishing costs of their houses/offices/shops according to the chosen finishes and construction works.

 

Recently he established ATCENTRAL Group, a privately held real estate investment and advisory firm, reinforced by a reliable history of AC’s architectural services and managing.
